The hire industry's submission to the Whittaker Review of the PPSA

In an earlier bulletin, we reported on the terms and timetable for the review of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 Cth (PPSA).  The review is now being undertaken by Mr Bruce Whittaker.

The Hire & Rental Industry Association and the Elevating Work Platform Association have lodged a submission to the Whittaker review.

The submission focusses particularly on the complexity, compliance costs and risks of loss of capital which confront small businesses in Australia’s hire industry as result of the operation of the PPSA in its current form.
