Career highlights

  • Advising NSW Maritime on disputing psychological injuries claims brought by corrupt former members of its legal department.

  • Successfully representing NSW Maritime in resolving claims over corruption and improper conduct allegations brought by former members of its legal department.

  • Advising for the NSW Department of Education for seven years on workers compensation and work injury claims involving complex and sensitive matters. This included injuries caused by employer action, allegations of workplace bullying and respiratory diseases due to exposure to dust from various types of wood.

  • Advising on claims for work injury damages for the Sydney Opera House Trust, such as claims based on unsafe work practices and systems of work and systemic bullying and harassment.

  • Successfully defending a workers compensation claim for NSW Police that lasted over six years. The claim centred on psychological injury allegedly due to workplace bullying and harassment. We presented extensive evidence to show that the injury was the result of reasonable management action under s 11A (1) of the Workers Compensation Act  1987.
